Serving the Lord

But if you refuse to serve the lord, then choose today whom you will serve.

Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live?

“But as for me and my family, we will serve the lord.”– Joshua 24:15

There is a reward in serving the Lord

Col 3:

23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

24 Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

Let’s not get tired in serving the Lord in our capacities. Find something to do in the house of God. For there are wages in it.

Shalom.

  1. Serving and working are two different words. The difference is that work is (uncountable) labour, employment, occupation, job while service is an event in which an entity takes the responsibility that something desirable happens on the behalf of another entity. Service takes accountability. We are accountable to God for our deeds on earth. We are to be careful how we serve because, we have our ultimate accountability partner. We should have joy while we serve.
